ThE Friends of ChadKirk

The Friends of Chadkirk is a non-profit group of volunteers which plays a key role in the running, maintenance and conservation of the chapel and the estate.

The Friends of Chadkirk have been meeting since the 1970s, working together to help run and promote the chapel. They have been actively involved in – and driven – conservation projects which help keep the chapel the recreation destination it is today.

When the chapel was bought from the Church of England, it was on the basis that it was to be used by and for the community. The Friends of Chadkirk represents the interests of the community at the chapel.

The Friends open the chapel to visitors, serve refreshments, organise and host events and maintain parts of the chapel and estate – for example, they fully manage the walled garden. The Friends also organise the annual well dressing.

The Friends of Chadkirk is a non-profit group: money raised from donations and events goes directly towards initiatives which maintain and promote the chapel.
