Chadkirk Summer picnic and garden party 2025 – and plant sale

  • Chadkirk Chapel and Country Estate Vale Road Stockport, England, SK6 United Kingdom (map)

We’re hosting a garden party/picnic day at Chadkirk Chapel.

You can bring your own food and drink and picnic in the walled garden or on the lawn. You cannot consume your own alcohol within the chapel, only outside.

There will also be a plant sale – come along and buy plants grown by the Friends of Chadkirk. The Friends of Chadkirk maintain both the chapel garden and the walled garden.

Musical entertainment will be provided by James Gansler on vocals and guitars, with John Turner on Fiddle and mandolin, who will performing a wide range of popular rock, pop and folk songs from across the years, including from Lindisfarne, Leonard Cohen, World Party and many more. James has played with us before and it’s always a storming event.

We also have colouring sheets and giant games to amuse the children, such as Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Giant Dominos and so on (no charge to use).

We’ll also be selling hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks – cash only. All funds raised are used for the benefit of Chadkirk, the chapel, the walled garden and the country estate.

The Chadkirk plant sale will also take place today.

If the weather is against us, the musical performances will be inside the chapel, which will restrict numbers.

For those coming in cars, unless disabled, can we please ask that you park in the car park at the entrance to Vale Road and make your way to the chapel on foot. When you get to the corner of the lane, we suggest that the path to the left of Vale Road is not only safer, it gives you a better view of the Coronation Meadow.
