The displays for the well dressing will be prepared from Monday 22 to Friday 26 July, in the chapel. If you’d like to see how the panels are made, you’re welcome to visit on Wednesday 24th or Thursday 25th (tea and coffee will be available, cash only) between 10:00am and 2:00pm.
Visitors are welcome to come along and see how the designs are transformed into a floral well dressing – and if you want to have a go, please just ask!
On Saturday 27 (13:00 hours), there will be the formal blessing and public viewing of the 2024 well dressing.
We open our doors at 12:00noon and should be winding up around 5:00pm. The formal blessing of the well takes place at 1:00pm. The well will be blessed by Father Gregory Hallam, from St. Aidan's Orthodox Church, Manchester.
In the chapel, we will be serving hot and cold drinks, cakes, wine and Prosecco. Cash only.
Outside in the gardens, there will be lots going on.
There will be entertainment from the Stockport Silver Band, The Stockport Ukulele Players and the Stockport Morris Men.
There will be stalls selling locally grown plants, second-hand books, cards, paintings, crafts, Chadkirk Comfrey Oil and Chadkirk Elderflower Cordial.
Local community groups will also be taking part; there will be a making and crafting stall and, of course, a tombola!
